WORKSHOP: STOTT PILATES® Matwork Flow Workshop

Move with flow to music that inspires!

This Mat workout in the series of flowing sequences developed that promotes breath to enhance the quality of movement, energizing the body and calming the mind. Small handheld weights are incorporated into this challenging flowing series creating a greater awareness of the periphery, while the essential breath patterns maintain mindfulness of the quality of movement.

Open to all Pilates instructors.

Master Class: Intelligent Circuit Programming

Friday, August 12
2:30-4:00pm

This master class will start by taking you through a muscular endurance Pilates circuit workout utilizing Reformer, Springboard, and mat exercise. Then we will breakdown methods for programming effective circuit equipment classes, and discuss strategies for designing effectiveness circuit programs by multitasking cues, intelligent exercise selection, and timed series. This circuit format allows teachers with limited equipment to offer larger classes without losing workout flow, and providing the equivalent intensity of a group Reformer class.

Open to all Pilates instructors.

Format: Master class, 1-hour workout and 30-minute discussion.

Master Class: Pushing the Reformer to the Next Level

Friday, August 12
4:15-5:15pm

This master class will take you through a series of Reformer exercises at an even, steady pace with smooth transition that build one exercise into the next to continuously challenging all levels. See and feel effective strategies for pushing your clients to the next level, without adding complicated choreography or requiring the client to have advance coordination.

Open to all Pilates instructors.

About Holly Furgason

Holly Furgason trains and teaches at her studio, Blue Sparrow Pilates, in San Francisco and Oakland, CA. Holly has been teaching Pilates for over 15 years, and has presented his work at numerous training facilities around the world. She teaches diverse clientele, from general conditioning to performance training for dancers or professional athletes, and has extensive experience working with injuries. Holly was a Top Ten Finalist for Finding the Next Pilates Anytime Instructor contest in 2013. She is the creator of Prenatal Pilates a mobile workout app with over 70,000 downloads. Holly is a dedicated writer and publishes a teaching blog for mentoring Pilates instructors called Fit 4 Real, and has been published by Pilates Style Magazine and blog, Pilates Pro, and co-author chapters in The Survival Guide for Pilates Teachers (2004) and The Pilates Space (2005). The University of Michigan grad earned her MFA from Mills College in Oakland California, where she now teaches as an adjunct professor. Holly’s studio is the STOTT PILATES® teacher training center for San Francisco and she is an Instructor Trainer in STOTT PILATES® on all apparatus, as well as in Total Barre and CORE®.
